We’ve Moved! But Not Far…Why We Still Make Every Treat in Chicago

For Farm to Pet, moving into a new manufacturing facility wasn't about getting bigger – but it was about making more treats. And that makes it much more about staying true to who we've always been.

From the day our founder Jackson Jones started making our first batches of single-ingredient chicken chip dog treats in his basement kitchen, our mission has never been to become the biggest pet treat company around. Our goal has always been to make treats we'd proudly feed our own pets – relying solely on simple, human-grade ingredients, gentle processing, and complete transparency…from farm to furry family member.

Today, that mission has led us to an exciting new chapter: a larger manufacturing facility right here in Chicago. While our street address may have changed, everything that matters most about the wholesome treats we make for your pets has stayed exactly the same. Oh, and we can in fact make more of them!

As Farm to Pet has grown, we've had plenty of opportunities to take shortcuts, like outsourcing production overseas or switching to co-packers. We could have shifted to lower-cost ingredients or mass-production manufacturing automation.

But that is definitely not the Farm to Pet way.

Every Farm to Pet product – from our signature Chicken Chips to our entire line of chicken, turkey, beef and fish dog treats, cat treats and meal toppers – continues to be batch-crafted in our own Chicago facility.

Why? Because making our own products gives us complete control over quality, consistency, and safety. When you're producing nutritious all-natural treats with just one ingredient, controlling the process makes a huge difference – and every little detail matters.

Pet parents today are paying closer attention than ever to ingredient labels. However, just as important is where those ingredients come from and where those treats are made.

Choosing US-made dog treats from Farm to Pet offers many advantages, such as:

• Stronger food safety standards for human-grade ingredients
• Better ingredient traceability for locally-sourced ingredients
• More consistent quality control over batch production
• Shorter supply chains, as in steps from farm to pet

For us, manufacturing in house – right here in the Windy City we love – means we know exactly how every batch is made because we're the ones making it.

We simply aren’t willing to give up that level of oversight, not to mention that it’s simply not possible when sourcing or production is halfway around the world.

Our new facility gives us room to grow – and four times the manufacturing capacity to make more healthy treats for dogs and cats! – but it doesn't change our philosophy. In fact, it keeps it right in our sightline.

Every batch still:

• starts with responsibly sourced, human-grade ingredients
• is gently dehydrated rather than heavily processed
• contains zero fillers, artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, or unnecessary additives.

The results speak for themselves: consistently crunchy, delicious, healthy treats you can feel good feeding your pets. Whether it's crunchy dog treats, nutritious meal toppers, or premium cat treats, our commitment to simple ingredients and wholesome pet nutrition remains unchanged.

More Capacity = More Innovation

Having additional manufacturing capacity also allows us to do something we're incredibly excited about: innovate.

Moving into the new facility will free up time from running overtime production shifts to experiment! With new proteins, new forms, even new packaging. After everything we learned turning poultry into chips, and then figuring out how to get the same result with beef and fish, we can only imagine how much easier it will be to test and perfect new dog treats and cat treats for furry friends, all with our core principles firmly in place.

Growth shouldn't mean sacrificing quality. For us, it means creating more ways to help pets live healthier, happier lives.

Staying Local Matters

As you can tell from our Chicago Chicken Chips, we are extremely proud to call Chicago home. Manufacturing here allows us to create local jobs, support Midwest suppliers and farms, and remain closely connected to every step of our production process.

While many companies move manufacturing farther away as they grow, we chose to continue investing right here in the great city of Chicago, in the great state of Illinois, and the great country of USA! After all, we believe that great products begin with great people – and we're incredibly fortunate to have such a great team to craft every Farm to Pet product with care and pride.

Moving into a larger Chicago facility is an exciting milestone, but it isn't the finish line. Rather, it's the next step in a journey you’ve taken with us for five years!

As Farm to Pet continues to grow, we'll keep asking ourselves the same question that guided us from the beginning:

"Would we proudly feed this to our own pets?"

If the answer isn't yes, we stop…and move on to something that is.

Our new home gives us the ability to serve more dogs, cats, and pet parents than ever before while staying true to the values that started it all.
