Guess what? IT’S OFFICIALLY SUMMER TIME! This means lots of time outside on hikes, playing, and pool time. But with pool time, comes safety measures as well. Here are some tips on pool safety for your pups (and humans too!).
Having a fence around your pool will ensure that your pups (or little humans!) don’t take a dip without you knowing. There have been many instances of pets falling in without their humans knowing and ending up in not great situations. Plus, adding a fence around your pool will reduce insurance costs.
Life jackets aren’t just for humans! Even if your pup is the best swimmer, it’s still a good idea to have a life jacket ready for them. Most dog life jackets have handles on top as well, making it easy to grab your pup out of the water for emergencies, or if you notice your pup getting tired. Also, there are lots of cute options available out there, like this Shark Fin life jacket
Never Leave Your Pup Unattended
Just like tiny humans, you should never leave your pup unattended at the pool, or any body of water for that matter. Accidents can happen, and you want to be able to quickly respond. Stay safe out there puppers!
