Today, we have been in business for TWO YEARS! We couldn't think of a better way to help celebrate than to feature our owner, founder, and head of everything Farm to Pet. Jackson is the reason our pups are all obsessed (in the best and healthiest way) to Chicken and Turkey Chips, Elk Antlers, and Toppers. Below is one of the very first iterations of our bag design AND Chicken Chip. WOW, we have come so far in such a short time. We couldn't be more thankful for all of you!
Jackson Jones grew up in La Harpe, IL and frequently visited his grandparents' farms (which was a big inspiration for this business). He has never shied away from a challenge. Jackson was a four-sport Thunder athlete, received a degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science while attending Southwest Missouri State, and went to work for Marmon in Chicago after graduation.
Nearly three years ago, Jackson started a dog treat business in his basement during the pandemic. Today, Farm to Pet makes and sells 100% single-ingredient treats, chews, and toppers for dogs in their Chicago facility. Their products are always responsibly sourced throughout the US and produced without fillers, additives, or by-products - truly the healthiest treats you can feed your pup.
Jackson felt there was a major gap in the market for simple, healthy treats for pets that they actually enjoy eating. When he started experimenting with the first Chicken Chip prototypes and shared them with his dog, Rooney, he knew he had something special. Since that moment, he has been working with his team to get their treats into the mouths of as many dogs as possible. Jackson said, "We are proud to have created a product that truly brings joy to our customers (dogs AND their paw parents)." When asked if he always wanted to be a business owner, he explained, "I am proud to take the knowledge and skills I have learned from working with Marmon to start Farm to Pet. I've had a passion for owning a business for a long time and feel blessed to now have the opportunity to spend more time with my family while pursuing a passion."
Jackson lives in Chicago with his wife, Lauren, children Drake and Dulcie, and dog, Rooney. They have embraced the "Chicken Chip Life" and enjoy spending time at dog parks, attending farmers' markets, and dog-friendly events to help promote their growing family business. Farm to Pet is an active contributor to non-profit dog welfare programs like Make-A-Wish and Live Like Roo and encourages its customers to do the same.
